Character Appearance:
Liz carries a dark appearance. She is seen either in her flight uniform or in civilian clothes. And her style of dress usually is one color; Black. She wears a pilots bomber jacket with her squadron seal on it, but she prefers not to stand out.
Character Personality:
Liz is a woman that carries a great deal of weight from the past. It is often very difficult to get her to admit her feelings, and even counselors have difficulty penetrating her surface personality. In the cockpit, Liz is calm and collect. She displays the professional demeanor of a true ace, and dose not permit emotion in battle. She has all the aspects of the best, and she could prove it. Liz's ability to harness natural talent from the pilots she leads is exceptional because she sees flight as an aspect of a person and not something that is learned.
Character Background:
Liz started life on a peaceful Mining Colony named Hephaestus 559. The Colony was far enough away from the Cardassian Boarder to avoid the troubles with the Maquis, yet frontier enough to offer a rugged lifestyle for any who wished to live on the mining asteroid. For all intents and purposes, Elizabeth Ashcroft is a true master behind the stick of a starfighter. Since even her childhood, she had shown remarkable skill in visualization and hand-eye coordination. When she was fifteen, her father trained her how to fly his Cargo Shuttle that often made ore hauling runs from the small mining colony that she lived on, and she took to flight with a natural skill.
When Liz was seventeen, she enlisted in her colony's patrol force and trained on modified Civilian Peregrine Fighters. As she flew, she grew even more skilled. However, Liz's quiet life as a patrol officer, would come to a violent close. While she was on patrol one day, she received a distress signal from her home Colony. She arrived back to find her entire patrol squadron decimated, and her home colony completely destroyed, along with everyone she knew. It was at that moment that Elizabeth Ashcroft died, and the same moment that a Demon was born, and her enemy would regret the day that they ever attacked her colony.
She had nowhere left to go but to the Federation, and she would fight her new enemy; The Dominion. Liz was assigned to the 46th Volunteer Starfighter Squadron, and it was here that the Ghost Demon of Hephaestus would be born.
When she was first deployed against a small three point Cardassian Scout wing. She amazed her squadron mates by engaging and destroying the entire wing. It was said that her battle cry was like that of an angry ghost avenging the dead. Others though of it as the roar of a demon than a ghost.
Her commanders had her examined by counselor's regularly, and her psych profile passed for flying a starfighter. With each sortee, her kill score grew until it totaled sixty-seven kills for the entire war.
Liz finally put the war behind her, but she could never put the Ghost Demon aside. By this time, she was a master. Starfleet wanted her to train new pilots, to which she politely replied that "true pilots are born, not made."
Elizabeth would continue to fly for Starfleet as a CAG for the years after the War. But she never forgot the screams of the people she was supposed to protect, but was powerless to do so. Liz felt the reality that she was alone close in around her. She served as CAG on several ships until she was assigned to Deep Space Five.
